Tuesday and Thursday Clubs

The aim of the club is to secure understanding in Maths or SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar). As the name suggests, the clubs are held on a Tuesday and on a Thursday after school from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Small groups of children are supported by staff members who help pupils to reinforce the skills needed to progress.  The club is aimed at pupils in Upper Key Stage 2.  As the groups are small, staff can prepare the lessons to be more bespoke to the needs of the group / individual.

In Maths, the club helps children to master mental and written calculations and moves on to reasoning and problem solving skills.

In SPaG, the staff help the children understand how to use the English language effectively, including how to spell and punctuate sentences.  The club supports their learning about grammar and its application.

The club is free and juice and biscuits are enjoyed by pupils and staff!

Cooking Club

After School Cooking Club is on Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30·

The children learn how to use the knives to chop up salad and fruit and other basic things such as grating.

They bake various biscuits using different methods, learn how to make crumble for a pudding and to decorate buns.

We talk about food hygiene, and we have some fun completing wordsearches and quizzes relating to food.
